Facing the higher education disruption of 2020, e-forms and workflow automation protected the Kenyon experience for staff and students

Kenyon College, a residential liberal-arts college in Gambier, Ohio, needed to replace its legacy document management system and further digitize student and employee records while preserving a highly personalized advising experience. Facing the end-of-life of NolijWeb and the disruption of 2020, the college turned to Softdocs and its Etrieve platform for content management, electronic forms, and workflow automation.

With Softdocs Etrieve, Kenyon College centralized files in a secure online repository, automated approvals and routing for advising, major declarations, and course proposals, and improved access based on user permissions. The results included stronger communication, better business continuity, and greater flexibility for remote work, with one staff member able to complete 95% of their work from home if needed; during the 2019–2020 academic year, Etrieve also supported 37 permanent course proposals and nearly 90 special topics proposals.
