eStem Public Charter Schools, a Little Rock, Arkansas charter school management organization, needed to eliminate paper-heavy, time-consuming processes in both Finance and Admissions. The school was dealing with redundant manual work, lost or misfiled documents, and a student application process that required staff to print forms and retype applicant information into another system. eStem worked with Softdocs and used the Softdocs ECM Platform, including electronic forms and print customization.

With Softdocs, eStem automated check printing and document capture in Finance, and moved student applications into an electronic approval workflow in Admissions. The results were significant: check processing became streamlined, admissions staff reduced application review time from about eight hours to just 30 minutes for 50 applications, and applicant data now transfers to the database in 5–10 seconds per record. Softdocs also improved reporting, organization, and access to records, giving staff information “right at their fingertips.”
