Softdel worked with a leading US-based manufacturer of smart lighting and home automation systems that needed a ZigBee interface for one of its home automation products. The customer also wanted secure over-the-air firmware updates across the full light network, with the OTA process initiated from a smart device such as a mobile or tablet via BLE.

Softdel implemented a ZigBee 3.0 interface using SiLabs EM3587 and Mighty Gecko EFR32 chipsets, along with BLE OTA, ZigBee OTA, and bootloader-based updates for the coordinator and LED driver. The solution also included secure commissioning and day lighting support, helping deliver faster time to market and reliable, secure implementation.
