Leading OEM of Flowmeter needed to add a HART 7 interface to its flow meter platform in response to strong customer demand, but lacked the internal expertise and bandwidth to integrate the protocol. The device was built on an 8-bit processor with no operating system, and the HART 7 functionality had to fit into a very small footprint with minimal changes to the existing platform.

Softdel provided the HART 7 solution using its in-house HART stack, a hardware daughter board, and HART 7 protocol integration services, along with a redesign of the hardware platform to fit within a 1" x 1.5" space. Softdel also implemented required custom commands, delivering a HART7-ready flow meter platform in 16 weeks, including pre-registration testing, with a royalty-free license usable across the hardware platform.
