Leading American Oil And Gas Company, a leading U.S. provider of positive displacement meters, turbine meters, ultrasonic flow meters, and flow computers, needed to re-design the display board of its flow computer product. The challenge was to replace an obsolete microcontroller while preserving the existing functionality of the device.

Softdel re-engineered the display board by analyzing the existing product, identifying gaps, selecting new hardware, and handling schematic design, PCB layout, assembly, testing, and board bring-up. Softdel also ported the firmware for modules such as LCD, keypad, CAN, and beeper, and ensured EMI/EMC compliance. The project helped speed time to market by reducing dependence on the actual testing environment and saved US $900 by re-using Softdel’s existing tools.
