Cyber Assessment services improve security for McLaren Construction

McLaren Construction, a UK and UAE construction and property group with around 700 employees, wanted to strengthen its security systems to meet GDPR requirements and the high standards expected by clients. With limited in-house cyber expertise, McLaren turned to Softcat PLC for its Cyber Assessment service to help assess its current security posture and build a practical plan to improve defences against internal and external threats.

Softcat PLC delivered an IT Security Framework project, starting with discovery and current-state assessment, then implementing high-impact, low-cost improvements, running vulnerability reviews, and creating a three-year forward plan for further security projects. As a result, McLaren Construction achieved Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus accreditations, improved its security posture, and built a more robust information security management system to better protect its data, users, and clients.
