Preview of the British American Tobacco (bat) Case Study

British American Tobacco boosts operations efficiency by 2.5% with Soft Industry

Soft Industry partnered with British American Tobacco (BAT), one of the world's largest consumer goods companies, to address challenges in its manufacturing operations. BAT needed to improve overall equipment efficiency, increase labor productivity, reduce waste, and enhance the quality of its finished goods. To meet these goals, Soft Industry developed and implemented a custom Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

The solution provided by Soft Industry integrated seamlessly with BAT's existing systems to automate data collection and enable real-time monitoring of the entire production cycle. This implementation led to significant measurable improvements, including a 2.5% increase in operations efficiency, a 12% rise in labor productivity, and a 2.1% improvement in the quality index. Additionally, the project resulted in a 2.5% reduction in waste and rejects and a 1.5% decrease in manufacturing costs.
