Eco Wave Power tracks wave data at the world’s only grid-connected wave energy array with Sofar Ocean

Eco Wave Power, a pioneer in grid-connected wave energy, needed to track precise wind and wave data at the location of their power station to accurately correlate wave characteristics with energy production. To meet this challenge, they utilized a Spotter buoy from Sofar Ocean.

Sofar Ocean worked closely with Eco Wave Power to develop a mooring design and determine the optimal placement for the Spotter buoy. The solution provided integral information on wave height, period, direction, and wind data, enabling high-accuracy analysis of the energy produced. The installation process was simple and conducted by the power station manager. Sofar's support helped Eco Wave Power capture the best possible data for their pioneering project.
