Migrating from IBM Rhapsody to Dassault Cameo MagicDraw in record time

Dynetics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leidos, supported the U.S. Army in migrating a very large IBM Rational Rhapsody UML model to Dassault’s Cameo Enterprise Architect. The model contained 37,331 files, 812,405 elements, and 703 diagrams, and the Army needed a one-time conversion that would preserve structure, hierarchy, and model linkages.

SodiusWillert provided its Publisher for Rhapsody to automate the migration from Rhapsody UML to Cameo/MagicDraw, generating the complete target model with minimal manual correction. The conversion was completed in just under 9 hours, avoiding what would have been about one man-year of manual work for the model itself and potentially another man-year for the data model, delivering major time and cost savings for the U.S. Army.
