Sigo Seguros, an auto insurer focused on serving underserved, bilingual customers with limited insurance histories, needed a way to deliver affordable, transparent personal auto policies without requiring visits to brick-and-mortar agencies. To meet that challenge, Sigo Seguros selected Socotra’s cloud-native core platform as the foundation for a completely digital, direct-to-consumer product.
Using Socotra’s flexible, API-driven core (rating, policy administration, reporting and analytics), Sigo Seguros built a proprietary self-hosted pricing and rating engine on top of the platform and integrated telematics via Socotra’s open APIs. The result—launched within a few months of kickoff—was a hybrid digital product that speeds time-to-market, enables fairer, personalized pricing for customers with limited histories, and improves access and transparency for underserved drivers.
