Bukalapak.com, one of Indonesia’s leading online marketplaces, wanted to increase engagement and sales from its large base of Android app installers. Although its proprietary shopping app had become the country’s top shopping app, many installs were inactive and monthly active users lagged behind total installs. Bukalapak also needed an in-app advertising partner with high-quality mobile inventory and reliable tracking.
Sociomantic addressed this with its AppKit in-app advertising suite, using lightweight SDK integration, dynamic HTML5 creatives, re-engagement campaigns, and programmatic bidding to target dormant app users with personalized ads. From September 2015 to March 2016, Bukalapak saw average gains of 36.1% in monthly active users, 59.5% in screen views, and 81.9% in in-app sales; in its best month, sales rose 2.7x versus pre-AppKit levels. During a March promotion week, Sociomantic also helped deliver a 69.6% higher conversion rate and 36.4% lower cost per order.
