Bartell Drugs, the Puget Sound–based, family-owned pharmacy chain, wanted to reposition its new Travel Clinic as the “one-stop-shop” for travelers and to grow its email and social databases while generating local buzz. Bartell Drugs and agency partner Media Plus engaged SocialToaster to design and run the Pura Vida Costa Rica sweepstakes as the central brand-awareness element of the campaign.

SocialToaster delivered Costa Rica–inspired creative across Bartell’s social channels (including a Pinterest board), built multiple targeted Facebook and Instagram ad sets, and ran an Instagram selfie challenge using #BartellsunSweeps. The campaign attracted over 5,000 participants—double the 2,500 goal—became one of SocialToaster’s most-submitted Instagram contests, and significantly boosted local social engagement and awareness for Bartell Drugs.
