How Walmart Uses a Live Game Show To Deepen Its Connection to Its Core Audience

Walmart sought to strengthen its connection with its 34+ million Facebook followers, humanize the brand, and drive real-time engagement and awareness on social channels. Socialive helped Walmart launch “Price Check Live,” a weekly 15-minute interactive game show streamed on Facebook where viewers guess product-bundle prices for discount codes and entry to a $5,000 prize. The Socialive-produced live format drove measurable impact: 46% more views than Walmart’s average Facebook video post, 6.8x more reactions, 29x more comments, dramatically higher positive sentiment and audience growth (the third episode produced roughly 10x the engagement of the first two), while humanizing the brand and boosting real-time audience participation.
