Transforming 264 Villages with Data

Tata Trusts partnered with SocialCops to help the Government of Andhra Pradesh tackle a major microplanning challenge across 264 villages in Vijayawada. The goal was to create model-village development plans for every individual, household, and village in the constituency within just 90 days, using a data-driven approach and SocialCops’ mobile data collection platform, Collect.

SocialCops trained 1,200 surveyors and helped gather data from 250,000 households, producing 100 million data points across 264 villages. The data was cleaned, verified, and turned into interactive dashboards, village scorecards, and scheme-matching tools that helped officials make better budget and policy decisions and identify eligible residents not receiving benefits.
