A SocialCops Case Study
The Business Council of Papua New Guinea, working with the United Nations Development Programme, needed a better way to coordinate and accelerate business contributions to national development. With many companies running CSR and inclusive business efforts independently, there was no shared platform to align initiatives, pool knowledge, or measure how private-sector work was supporting the Sustainable Development Goals. SocialCops helped address this challenge with a data intelligence dashboard.
SocialCops built the #Business4SDGs Dashboard to track and map business initiatives against the SDGs, combining national development data with business-level survey data. The solution included a Sustainability Score for each company, SDG interlinkage views, and visualizations of development metrics, giving businesses, government, and researchers a clearer picture of impact. Six leading companies in Papua New Guinea participated in the pilot, and the project was described as a global first for mapping private-sector contributions to sustainable and inclusive growth.
