A SocialCops Case Study
The India Health Action Trust, in partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, faced the challenge of improving the quality of maternal and child health services across 1,113 primary health centers in rural India. Their goal was to monitor pregnant women during delivery in these facilities to help reduce the country's high maternal mortality rate. To tackle this, they partnered with SocialCops and used their mobile data collection app, Collect.
SocialCops implemented Collect to enable complex, data-driven monitoring of every mother and child. The solution featured an easy-to-use interface for first-time smartphone users, worked offline in areas with limited internet, and used adaptive surveys with skip logic. Over two years of data collection, SocialCops' tool successfully facilitated the monitoring of clinical services across 150 blocks, allowing health workers to efficiently track the well-being of each patient and contributing to the mission of making deliveries safer.
