Case Study: Oxfam India advances Right to Education awareness with SocialCops

A SocialCops Case Study

Preview of the Oxfam India Case Study

Analyzing Education Data from 1.4 Million Schools

Oxfam India partnered with SocialCops to address a major education challenge in India: despite the Right to Education Act being passed years earlier, only 8% of schools were fully compliant with its norms. Oxfam needed a data-driven way to raise awareness about RTE gaps and show which districts were performing well or falling short through an interactive public scorecard.

SocialCops aggregated and cleaned data from 1.4 million schools covering 348 million data points and 240 indicators, then built an interactive dashboard with district comparisons, search, and scorecards to visualize RTE compliance. The campaign helped Oxfam India’s Haq Banta Hai initiative gain over 430,000 signatures, while SocialCops delivered a powerful scorecard and visualization platform that made the issue easy to understand and act on.
