Vattenfall Adds 17,000 Users to Socialcast, Attributing Remarkable Success to Groups, Executive Participation, and Integration with Other Systems

Vattenfall, one of Europe’s largest energy producers with about 32,000 employees across multiple countries, needed an enterprise social network to help geographically dispersed staff find experts, access corporate information and break down siloed knowledge. Their existing phone directory couldn’t locate people by role or expertise, so the company sought a user-friendly platform that fit its culture and supported tenured and new employees alike.

Vattenfall deployed Socialcast On‑Premise with a targeted launch campaign (train-the-communicators, webinars, videos and internal promotions), embedded Socialcast streams into the intranet and global phonebook, and promoted Groups and executive participation to drive engagement. The initiative added 17,000 users in its first year (reaching roughly 20,000 active users), accelerating knowledge sharing, improving cross‑border collaboration and making it easier and faster for employees to connect and solve problems.
