Atea, a leading Nordic and Baltic IT infrastructure supplier with about 6,500 employees across 82 locations in seven countries, faced rapid growth and a shift from a decentralized to a centralized business model. To meet aggressive targets and better leverage expertise across borders, the company needed a simple social communication tool that would let employees connect, learn and share knowledge regardless of location or time zone.
Atea implemented Socialcast (Mar–Jun 2012) for all 6,500 employees with minimal internal resources, creating an active platform of nearly 250 special-interest groups. The network has accelerated communications and knowledge sharing—faster than email and accessible by mobile—enabling Atea to tap expertise across countries, improve internal communications and support its ambitious growth plans.
