ATD Virtual Conference faced the challenge of transforming its annual in-person learning event into a fully virtual experience in 2020 while maintaining high-quality content, networking, and engagement for training professionals. To do this, ATD ran its five-day event on the Social27 Virtual Event Platform, which needed to support dozens of sponsors, hundreds of sessions, and thousands of attendees across multiple languages.
Social27 delivered a feature-rich solution — including AI-driven Recommendations, roundtables, Hello World intro videos, happy hour chat rooms, one-on-one messaging, live Q&A, and extensive on-demand content — to drive connection and learning. The results: 12,562 attendees over five days, average attendance of 3.5 days and 2:36:25 spent per day, 35 live sessions, over 190 hours of on-demand content, 109,869 total platform feature uses, 17,565 on-demand uses, 1,037 roundtable uses (451 created), 822 Hello World videos, and 8,522 session starts, demonstrating strong engagement and successful virtual networking powered by Social27.
