Social WiFi in Municipal Buses in Płock

Galeria Wisła Shopping Mall sponsored a project to bring free onboard internet to Płock’s municipal buses to boost commuter comfort and connectivity. To deliver this service the mall partnered with Social WiFi, which provided its smart WiFi infrastructure and WiFi marketing solution for public transportation.

Social WiFi installed a bespoke network that activates with the bus engine, delivering hotspots in 10 buses, simple email/social-login access, and the ability to push messages and multimedia (mall events, timetable changes, air quality) and run passenger surveys. The rollout made Płock one of the first Polish cities with smart bus WiFi, clearly labeled vehicles for riders, improved passenger communication and comfort, and the sponsored program runs through January 31, 2018.
