A Social WiFi Case Study
The Grand Ascot Hotel, a prestigious 4-star hotel in Krakow, Poland, faced the challenge of increasing its volume of online reviews to improve its local ranking and capturing guest contact data typically withheld by online travel agencies. They needed to implement this without replacing their existing, unsupported WiFi hardware, all while ensuring a premium and branded login experience for their guests. They partnered with vendor Social WiFi to use its guest WiFi and marketing platform.
Social WiFi implemented a solution using a MikroTik router to integrate with the hotel's existing infrastructure. They created fully branded, GDPR-compliant login pages and configured an automated system to gather feedback, which sent a review request email 27 hours after a guest's last WiFi connection. This strategy resulted in over 1,500 new CRM entries, 203 positive public reviews gathered, and 22 negative reviews intercepted for private feedback, significantly boosting the hotel's online presence and guest retention capabilities.
