The University of Miami events team, responsible for more than 80 annual events ranging from commencements to donor dinners, needed a faster, more accurate way to plan seating, manage registrations and execute day-of logistics—especially for large, complex or weather-impacted events that once required up to eight hours of manual seating work.
By adopting Social Tables’ cloud-based diagramming and check-in tools, the team uses grouping, drag-and-drop layouts, guest notes, tags (including meal and “guest of” tags), real-time check-in alerts and integration with Raiser’s Edge to streamline planning and onsite adjustments. The result: higher productivity and accuracy, much faster seating plans, smoother registration and reporting, and successful execution of large events like a 500-person inauguration dinner.
