The London Olympics website faced an enormous challenge ahead of the 2012 Summer Games: it needed to handle massive global traffic, real-time live content, and heavy demand across web and mobile without slowing down or crashing. The London Organizing Committee also needed precise capacity planning and cost-effective load testing, and it turned to SOASTA CloudTest to prepare for peak demand.

SOASTA implemented CloudTest to run more than 500 performance tests across the website and mobile apps, simulating up to 400,000 concurrent users and enabling real-time adjustments during testing. The result was a highly reliable online experience that supported 431 million visitors, 15 million app downloads, and 4.73 billion page views, while also reducing testing time and cost by simulating 100,000 users in minutes instead of requiring weeks of setup.
