OZSALE, Australia’s number one members-only online shopping club, faced the challenge of launching its FLASH FRENZY event on a newly introduced shopping basket system without knowing how it would handle massive traffic spikes. After a competitor’s high-profile sale failure, OZSALE turned to SOASTA for confidence that its site and mobile app could perform under extreme load.
SOASTA implemented CloudTest for load testing, mPulse for real user monitoring, and TouchTest for mobile app testing. The results were strong: OZSALE handled 4x the traffic of its closest flash sale competitors, generated more than $5 million AUD in revenue, and saw over 50% of sales come from mobile. The event also drove 80,000 pre-registrations and a 160% increase in new visitors and page views.
