SurveyMonkey talks with Snyk about developer security during hypergrowth

SurveyMonkey, now part of Momentive, needed a better way to manage developer security during hypergrowth. With a microservices environment and many teams using their own tools and pipelines, the company lacked consistency, traceability, and visibility into open source usage, dependency risk, and license compliance. It used Snyk Open Source, Snyk Container, and Snyk Code to help bring security considerations closer to developers.

With Snyk, SurveyMonkey created a more standardized “paved road” for building and scanning software, anchored by a common artifact repository and mirrored tooling across developer machines, IDEs, and CI/CD pipelines. This gave developers better data to make informed decisions, reduced security friction, and helped shift security left without blocking delivery. The result was stronger visibility, easier vulnerability detection and remediation, and a more collaborative security culture where developers and security teams shared responsibility.
