Red Ventures Rolls Out Container Scanning At Scale Using Snyk

Red Ventures, a large digital-media technology organization with hundreds of AWS accounts and 700+ engineers, needed better, actionable container security than their home‑grown tooling provided. Having already used Snyk for application dependency scanning, Red Ventures evaluated and selected Snyk’s container scanning product—building on the Snyk CLI—to gain clearer, developer‑friendly visibility across their complex stack.

Using Snyk, Red Ventures built a central CodeBuild‑based scanning pipeline that leverages the Snyk CLI, a custom discovery service to auto‑enroll images in Amazon ECR, and JIRA integration to surface only fixable issues to engineers. The Snyk implementation now scales across 350+ AWS accounts, scans 1300+ new images per day, and delivers actionable remediation tickets directly to teams—improving security coverage and remediation efficiency without disrupting developer workflows.
