Case Study: Voltos achieves continuous automated security for its credential-management product with Snyk

A Snyk Case Study

Preview of the Voltos Case Study

How Voltos Uses Snyk to Secure Their Own Security Product

Voltos, a service that helps developers securely manage and share app credentials and configuration, needed to prove it could secure its own security-focused product. With a sprawling dependency tree across Node, React, and Ruby and many vulnerabilities that lack official CVEs, Voltos faced the risk of issues slipping into production — for example, a medium‑severity remote memory‑exposure bug in the request module — while lacking a dedicated, centralized process to catch and fix problems quickly.

Voltos signed up to Snyk, ran an initial scan in under five minutes, and adopted Snyk’s GitHub integration and CLI to continuously test code, open single‑click pull requests with fixes, and send Slack/email alerts. By using Snyk’s automatic PR checks and asynchronous repository scans, Voltos now finds vulnerabilities at pull‑request time instead of after deployment, shortens detection‑to‑fix cycles, and has reinforced a security‑first culture across the team.
