Case Study: Comic Relief achieves automated open-source security and increased developer productivity with Snyk

A Snyk Case Study

Preview of the Comic Relief Case Study

How Comic Relief’s developers used Snyk to automate security and boost productivity as part of their Digital Transformation

Comic Relief, a major UK charity undergoing a digital transformation, needed to balance developer agility with strict security for the many third‑party open source libraries they use. With limited time to vet or patch dependencies, the team adopted Snyk—integrating it into their Concourse CI serverless deployment pipeline and using the Snyk CLI—to automate dependency scanning and vulnerability management.

Snyk checks dependencies during deployment, blocks builds with known vulnerabilities, sends Slack/email alerts, and can open pull requests or guide fixes via the snyk wizard so junior developers can remediate issues. As a result, Comic Relief diverted headcount from manual security work to feature development, shrank a lengthy triage-to-remediate workflow to simple merges in minutes, and boosted overall developer productivity.
