Wargaming Powers Up Player Happiness with Unified Data and Faster Insights

Wargaming, the gaming company behind massive player-facing data operations, needed a faster, more flexible analytics platform after Hadoop and Google BigQuery became too slow and restrictive for its growing needs. The team also wanted better cost control and cloud flexibility, and chose Snowflake as the data platform to support its migration and analytics work.

With Snowflake, Wargaming migrated 644 tables, 1 petabyte of data, 130 dashboards, and more than 2,000 ingestion pipelines, rebuilding aggregations and dashboards directly in the platform. The result was about $500K in annual savings and average cost savings of 25%, while also improving performance, spending visibility, and support for better player experiences.
