BMW Group Brings Extra Horsepower to its Operational Data Workloads With Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud

BMW Group needed a faster, more cost-effective way to run certain operational data workloads in its Cloud Data Hub, especially large service data use cases that required very high compute performance. While BMW Group already used AWS and Apache Iceberg for many workloads, it turned to Snowflake for the cases where speed and flexibility were most important.

BMW Group integrated Snowflake into its Cloud Data Hub to power service data workloads and other operational use cases. With Snowflake, dealership staff can access vehicle service histories almost instantly, helping them work faster and improve customer service. BMW Group also achieved 25% average cost savings on heavy-compute workloads, and more than 60 use cases were running on Snowflake within 18 months.
