Case Study: Heap accelerates user adoption and onboarding with Snowflake

A Snowflake Case Study

Preview of the Heap Case Study

Accelerating Software User Adoption With Snowflake

Heap is a San Francisco–based SaaS company that collects and analyzes billions of user interactions to power customer insights. When launching Heap Connect—which pushes retroactive user and event data into customer data warehouses—the team ran into slow, labor‑intensive onboarding: engineers had to connect clusters, replicate data, and troubleshoot permissions, leaving customers with large datasets waiting months for access and delaying time to insight.

Heap built Heap Connect for Snowflake using Snowflake’s Secure Data Sharing to eliminate replication and complex ETL. Onboarding shrank from months to minutes, engineering overhead and maintenance dropped, and customers only pay for compute used to query shared data. The integration drove exponential adoption, improved customer satisfaction, and enabled Heap to migrate its internal analytics to Snowflake for faster, scalable decision‑making.
