Vix Technology Offers Real-Time Access to Customer Data With Snowflake

Vix Technology, a Cambridge-based provider of public transport ticketing systems serving 200+ cities, was constrained by a single monolithic transactional database on AWS that produced static daily PDF/CSV reports. That architecture prevented real-time analysis, made report generation expensive and manual, and limited customers’ ability to gain actionable insights from ticketing and passenger data.

Working with partner Versent, Vix moved to Snowflake on AWS to deliver a cloud-native, API-driven platform that gives customers self-service access to a single view of operational KPIs and SLAs; the first customer rollout took 13 weeks. The change automated ~150 tailored monthly reports, enabled real-time dashboards and analytics, freed DBAs for higher-value work, cut operational costs by 50%, and created a scalable foundation for data sharing, BI and future ML initiatives.
