Simon Data Leverages Snowflake to Accelerate Data-Enabled Marketing for Customers

Simon Data is an enterprise customer data platform that helps brands deliver personalized, data-driven marketing. Facing manual cluster management, resource contention, disk and compute limits, and scaling problems as customer data volumes grew, Simon’s engineers spent significant time reshuffling workloads and resizing clusters rather than building product features.

Simon moved inbound and outbound data flows into the Snowflake Data Cloud using Secure Data Sharing, the Data Marketplace and reader accounts, and built an internal pipeline with Stitch, dbt and Heap. The change separated storage from compute and enabled near-instant elasticity, speeding onboarding and time to value (customers see ROI weeks or months sooner); today 33% of Simon’s customers use Snowflake, 33% said Snowflake integration was a key selection factor, and customers leveraging Snowflake account for about 50% of Simon’s revenue — while engineering overhead and contention have dropped substantially.
