How Publica Improves CTV Monetization Through the Snowflake Data Cloud

Publica, a Palo Alto–based ad-tech company that serves more than 2 billion Connected TV (CTV) ads monthly, needed to give publishers granular, real-time reporting on auction-level and audience-segment data (revenue, impressions, CPM). Their SQL Server data warehouse couldn't handle the volume or low latency required, limiting dataset size, exposed metrics and the ability to keep dashboards up to date.

Publica migrated to Snowflake in a month and built a new UI for live analytics and ML-powered forecasting, enabling publishers to filter by segment, channel, ZIP code and more. The move delivered a 5x speedup in queries (15s to 3s), expanded aggregate tables to ~200 billion rows, and made 32 metrics and 42 dimensions available for real-time monetization and performance reporting—improving UX, yield optimization, and forecasting.
