Dev Assets, created by game developer and YouTuber Asbjørn Thirslund, is a curated storefront for high‑quality Unity assets that wanted to offer a Pay‑What‑You‑Want option to make assets accessible to newer developers. Built with the static site generator Jekyll, the project required a simple, flexible e‑commerce solution for digital goods that avoided backend complexity.

Asbjørn integrated Snipcart’s front‑end cart in an afternoon, placing pay buttons on Jekyll product pages and using a custom field plus JavaScript to implement $0/$2/$5/$10/$20 price tiers to emulate PWYW; Snipcart’s email templates delivered download links. The result was a fast, low‑maintenance store with strong documentation and support, enabling flexible digital sales while keeping the site static and lightweight.
