SSE was using a paper-based Oracle host system for all warehouse tasks, which created problems with operator accountability, hard-to-read handwriting, misplaced stock, and poor productivity. The company also used enough paper in a year to stack to the height of the BT Tower in London.

SSE chose SnapFulfil after a four-month selection process and implemented its cloud warehouse solution. SnapFulfil helped SSE raise pick lines per hour per full-time employee from 13 to 19, improve order fulfilment from less than 90% to more than 98%, increase throughput by around 4%, and reduce FLT operating hours. SSE achieved ROI within nine months of go-live and annual payback equal to five times the running cost of the system.
