A SnapComms Case Study
Wallowa Community Hospital, a 25‑bed rural facility in Oregon with about 150 employees, faced a communications challenge: critical IT outage and upgrade notices were being missed because staff didn’t always check email, forcing the ITS team to phone each department. Seeking an affordable, easy-to-use solution, the hospital selected SnapComms (Desktop Alerts and Desktop Tickers) to provide a separate, hard-to-miss channel for time‑sensitive messages.
SnapComms implemented Desktop Alerts and Desktop Tickers across 185 hospital computers, delivering pop‑up notifications and scrolling newsfeeds that bypass email and appear regardless of which application is open. The result: ITS reaches staff faster than calling or emailing, messages are seen in conference rooms and operating theatres, support interruptions during outages have dropped, and HR now uses the same tools for announcements — improving overall internal communication and response times.
