A SnapComms Case Study
Saint Peter’s University Hospital, a 478‑bed teaching hospital in New Brunswick and part of Saint Peter’s Health Partners, needed a reliable way to alert clinical staff about scheduled and unplanned clinical system outages. Nurses and physicians on the floor often don’t have email open, and the hospital had to reach users across 8,000 desktop PCs and 155 remote sites, so they deployed SnapComms Desktop Alerts (locally hosted) to ensure critical messages are seen immediately.
SnapComms implemented desktop alerts across desktops, laptops and workstations‑on‑wheels in key departments, enabled delegated departmental administrators, and provided remote, targeted delivery by user, group or location with optional interruption. The solution is used for P1/P2 outages and maintenance, has drastically improved message cut‑through and delivery to staff without email, and provides readership and usage statistics for senior management; Saint Peter’s now plans to expand SnapComms enterprise‑wide and onto mobile devices.
