A SnapComms Case Study
Private Hospital Group, a UK private hospital network with 2,700 beds across 70 hospitals and treatment centres (employing 6,500 consultant specialists and 9,500 staff and managing over one million outpatient and 276,000 inpatient visits annually), needed a faster, more reliable way to notify staff of unplanned IT outages. The IT team was spending time compiling large email groups, server space was strained by high email volumes, and many frontline users had no email accounts — so the organisation engaged SnapComms and deployed its locally hosted messaging solution, notably the SnapComms Scrolling Desktop Tickers and Message Manager.
SnapComms implemented targeted, template-based scrolling desktop tickers that can be sent to specific user accounts or machines (including users without email), supported by Message Manager reporting to show who received and read each alert. The result was faster, more visible outage communication, reduced email traffic and mailbox sizes, fewer calls to the help desk, and the ability to prove message receipt via SnapComms reports — improvements the hospital says are quicker to deploy than emails and give better insight into system performance.
