Ulta Beauty, the leading specialty beauty retailer on a mission to be guests’ most loved beauty destination, needed a scalable way to deliver personalized shopping experiences and drive product engagement where customers spend time — social platforms. Their challenge was to make AR-driven product trials and conversions easy to create and optimize at scale while reaching new audiences efficiently.
Partnering with Snapchat and Rise Interactive, Ulta used Lens Web Builder and catalog-powered Shopping Lenses with Pixel Purchase goal-based bidding as an always-on AR strategy, supplemented by video Snap Ads and Collection Ads. The campaign drove over 30 million product trials at under $0.01 per trial, generated $6M in attributable revenue, delivered 43% incremental reach versus Snap Ads alone, and achieved 56% higher ROAS compared with Ulta’s non-shopping Lenses.
