Saudi Tourism Authority partnered with Snapchat to drive large-scale, same-day engagement around Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day. The brief was to give Snapchatters a simple, shareable way to bond, celebrate and express national pride by augmenting authentic traditional outfits and adding a static national filter for captured moments.
Snapchat launched a national AR Lens that let users “dress up” in traditional attire alongside a National Filter for sharing; the one-day activation reached nearly 15 million Snapchat users, delivered 503 million impressions, generated 10 years and 9 months of total Lens playtime, and achieved a share rate above 20%—setting a new one-day engagement record in MENA.
