Golf Clash, a multiplayer mobile golf game from Playdemic, needed to drive high-quality installs and test Snapchat’s new AR capabilities with an audience of engaged gamers. Having seen previous success on Snapchat, Playdemic aimed to scale installs while exploring immersive camera ad formats that would stand out to M18+ users in the UK and US.
Playdemic and Snapchat created a playful face-in-Lens that turned a Snapchatter’s face into a golf ball for a virtual tee-off, with a direct Lens attachment to install the app. Using Reach and Frequency buying and excluding existing players, the campaign delivered 10k+ installs, a 56% install rate and ROAS 37% above target, prompting Playdemic to adopt Lenses as an always-on direct response format.
