Clover, a popular dating app, faced the industry-wide challenge of preparing for Apple’s iOS 14 privacy changes and the ATT mandate. To get ahead, Clover began testing SKAdNetwork implementations in late 2020—trialing different app events (Installs, Sign Ups, Adds to Cart, Purchases) with dedicated budgets—to learn how to set up campaigns and measure performance across Ads Manager and their MMP.

Working closely with Snapchat and AppsFlyer, Clover mapped Conversion Values, tested web campaigns with the Snap App ID Tracking Toggle, and compared Ads Manager and MMP dashboards to capture opt-in and opt-out conversion behavior. The result was a smooth, fast setup and strong early campaign performance: Snapchat’s global SKAdNetwork support and purpose-built App Install Goal-Based Bidding enabled Clover to benchmark, iterate, and drive efficient app installs ahead of the ATT rollout.
