Children’s Commissioner for Wales boosts youth voting awareness with Snap Surveys and 10,000 responses

The Children’s Commissioner for Wales (CCfW) faced the challenge of engaging young people in the democratic process and running a parallel "mock" election for schools amidst coronavirus restrictions that prevented the use of paper ballots. To overcome this, they turned to vendor Snap Surveys to implement an online survey solution that would replicate the official voting experience.

Snap Surveys provided a platform to create online surveys that mirrored official constituency ballot papers, with unique links distributed to each school. This solution gathered approximately 10,000 responses and successfully increased pupils' knowledge and awareness of the Senedd. Most significantly, 60% of participants agreed they would be more likely to vote in future elections because of the project.
