Mary Brown’s, a Canadian chicken and taters restaurant chain, engaged the vendor Smooth Commerce to develop a new mobile app. Their challenge was to successfully promote the app's nationwide launch to drive customer adoption and win new business, a task that required creative marketing solutions during the pandemic.
Smooth Commerce provided the platform and Merchant Portal used to power the app and its marketing. Mary Brown’s implemented a multi-channel promotional campaign and used the portal’s tools to send targeted push notifications and in-app messages. This strategy resulted in over 58,000 app sign-ups within 30 days, with 45% of new users making a purchase and the app reaching #8 in its category on the App Store.
