Inform Restaurant Accounting, a Tigard, OR firm founded in 2008 that provides full-service accounting, bookkeeping and payroll exclusively for restaurants, faced an overwhelming influx of paper—especially delivery receipts and vendor invoices—that filled offices and filing cabinets. After a 2011 capacity crisis exposed the limits of their copier/scanner-to-network approach, the firm needed an affordable, secure solution with 24/7 access and a client portal to move paperwork online.
On January 1, 2012 they implemented SmartVault integrated with QuickBooks, scanning client source documents to a SmartVault Inbox and attaching them to QuickBooks transactions. The change delivered secure, real-time access for staff and clients (rolled out in phases), enabled remote work, and cut task time from about an hour to roughly 20 minutes—dramatically reducing paper handling and improving efficiency.
