Melfast, a wholesale distributor of fasteners, screws, nuts and bolts founded in 1985, launched a new website in 2010 but struggled to generate leads. To fix this, SmartSites was engaged in early 2013 to provide search engine optimization and Google AdWords (pay-per-click) management to turn the site into a lead-generating channel.
SmartSites implemented keyword research, onsite SEO, targeted web copy, weekly blog posts, a link-building campaign and Google AdWords management. The results were significant: SmartSites drove a 177% increase in total site traffic, a 324% increase in organic search traffic, a 132% increase in total site visitors and a 25% decrease in AdWords cost per click.
