A SmartSites Case Study
Community Blood Services, a not-for-profit supplying blood and blood products to hospitals in the NJ/NY region since 1953, faced a cluttered, hard-to-navigate website with sign-up forms that frustrated donors. SmartSites was engaged to redesign the site, reorganize content by service and donation type, incorporate the DONOR EXPRESS donor questionnaire feature, and deliver a mobile-responsive web design to better serve both donors and recipients.
SmartSites implemented a full redesign—listing and rebuilding pages, reorganizing categories, updating photography, and adding easy access to the DONOR EXPRESS flow—while coordinating regular reviews with the CBS board. The new site improved branding, streamlined donation sign-ups, and made donor questionnaires and information far more accessible on mobile, producing measurable improvements in donation engagement and on‑the‑go user access driven by the vendor’s redesign.
