A Smartsheet Case Study
Portillo’s, the Midwest fast-casual chain that started as a hotdog stand in 1963, faced inconsistent photography, copy, and marketing across its 50‑year legacy as it expanded. When Jeanelle Calogero became Brand Design Manager in 2016 she brought creative in‑house and needed a way to preserve the brand’s heritage while streamlining content and design for new, younger audiences and more locations.
She implemented Brandfolder as a centralized asset repository with dedicated collections and InDesign templates for training, field marketing, and HR, enabling teams to self‑serve approved assets. The result: faster event execution, more efficient training and store openings, stronger brand consistency across locations, reduced need to hire extra staff, and a clear return on investment as Portillo’s scales at roughly 5–7 new units per year.
